— editing from the perspective of your target audience, and pointing out where you’re making assumptions about what they may already know or not know

— highlighting when what you’re trying to say and what you’re actually saying are incongruent

— streamlining redundant copy

— making suggestions for changes without attachment to whether or not you implement them (i.e., I honor your sovereignty and don’t take it personally if we disagree)

— the usual grammatical and punctuation editing

— style suggestions for visual coherence, use of fonts, colors, photos, graphics, etc., when applicable
